BUILD ONE LIKE THIS FOR:
Vrboska, a Bespoke Helderburg Performance tuned D90 was a client commissioned build. It’s an Authentic British Built and British Heritage Certified Left Hand Drive Defender with matching numbers… with every possible upgrade available that increased performance and handling.
Vrboska is a small fishing harbour dating to the 15th century that’s surrounded by a pine forest, vineyards, and olive groves. The sandy beaches are a pristine gold at the water’s edge fading to a spectacular almost white at the edge of the olive groves. The water is a pure blue that matches the brilliant blue sky.
When the client shared images of his island home, decor, fishing boat and talked of his love of sand, water, wine, interest for Key West lifestyle and olives, the name Vrboska instantly came to mind to fit the purity of the design I was about to create.
This Bespoke Helderburg was crafted to represent The Sky, The Water, The Sand, Boating, Fishing, and Purity. While we kept the simplicity and purity of a Defender it was important that the client was able to take long road trips to visit his mother and satisfy his quest for spirited daily driving.
We utilized our performance modified turbo diesel engine and exhaust design and performance suspension to ensure the drive was comfortable, spirited, and fun on the road or the beach. We also subtly included power windows, central door locks, exterior courtesy, and side mirror puddle lighting, GPS tracking, mobile wi-fi hot spot, and a Marshall Bluetooth amplifier audio system since he is a Jimmy Buffet fan. The mahogany flooring is reclaimed wood from a Hacker-Craft handmade boat dating from the 1930s. Hacker-Craft is the oldest remaining wood boat manufacture still in existence. The hand-made CNC billet aluminum handles, trim pieces, mirror arms, petrol cap are all reminiscent of the controls on a superior wood boat crafted many years ago. The final touch was the sisal rope to match the nautical feel.
It took 3,168 hours to craft Vrboska a celebration of life on an island with water, sand, fishing, and purity in design and the finer things in life were built by master craftsman that had practiced their trade for a lifetime.
