Helderburg Journeys

The thrill is undeniable! I can spend days, weeks or even months, completely immersed in designing a Helderburg and sharing that vision with a client. Many clients tell me I have a way of encouraging them to be bolder than they would ever imagine—and they love it.

Let me share a story that hits close to home for me, as I’ve been down the same road myself and hence why Helderburg was founded. The phone rang, and it was a voice I’ve always enjoyed hearing—Brian. Just talking with him has a way of leaving me feeling inspired and invigorated.

The sun dipped low in the sky, painting the horizon with hues of amber and rose. I drove with the windows down, the brisk evening breeze rushing in with the scent of evergreens.

This morning, our team unanimously decided to shorten our summer vacation and extend our workday by three hours to dedicate extra time to our Passion Project, which we started over three years ago.

We’ve been busy at Helderburg, starting, completing, and beginning new builds! Let me introduce you to Alex, a stunning D90 hardtop.

August 30, 2023 Last week, I had the pleasure of hosting four amazing couples at my Sharon Springs, NY Horse farm. Each was keen on the idea of having their own Defender built.

August 23, 2023 I meant to email and share all that is going on but time keeps slipping away. I really wanted to write a lovely prose telling of my adventure. Time is scarce since we’re all spending long days in the shop working to complete custom builds prior to the end of the year.

It’s been a busy summer for Helderburg as we have been busily creating some of the best custom Defenders to date. However I think the ones we are completing this quarter are some of the best ever.

Why, I wondered, am I irresistibly drawn to motorcycles, Land Rover Defenders, canoes, and my Overland Camper Van? And then, in a moment of profound realization, it struck me—I am captivated by the essence of freedom.
