Let me share a story that hits close to home for me, as I’ve been down the same road myself and hence why Helderburg was founded. The phone rang, and it was a voice I’ve always enjoyed hearing—Brian. Just talking with him has a way of leaving me feeling inspired and invigorated.
Brian, in his mid-50s, embodies vitality. He runs marathons, hits the gym every morning at 5 a.m., and stays in peak physical shape. His success is extraordinary; he’s built a business known throughout the World in Manhattan, managing over 320 employees and achieving more in a day than most could ever dream of. But Brian recently realized that his relentless pursuit had shifted from a passion to a quest for status. It was no longer about the money—it was about the title and fame.
For five years, we’d discussed him commissioning a Helderburg, but it always seemed just beyond reach due to his busy schedule. Everything changed when Brian faced a health scare that forced him to reassess his priorities. The doctors’ stern advice to make significant lifestyle changes became a turning point for him.
With a new sense of clarity and him wanting to do more for himself, Brian called me and said, “OK, let’s do it. How soon can I have my Helderburg? I have a fly fishing trip in Montana, and I want my Helderburg to be a part of it.” His decision was a powerful reminder of life’s preciousness and the importance of seizing the moments that truly matter.
